Wearing a mask has become an essential part of our lives, so much so that people have started to match them with their outfit. It seems like they have finally accepted that it will take a while for things to go back to normal and this is the only possible way to protect oneself from getting infected.
Being a respiratory disease, coronavirus spreads through respiratory droplets which are suspended in the air by an infected person while coughing, sneezing or talking. Masks prevent you from inhaling the droplets, thereby reducing the risk of infection by 50 per cent.
01/ Wear a mask to stay safe
The only thing you need to be careful about while wearing a mask is that it should cover your nose and mouth properly. Several times it has been noticed that people's masks are too tight, making them feel suffocated or too loose, increasing the risk of infection. This is more common if you are using a surgical mask. However, there is a way to fix your loose mask to make them fit your face properly.
02/ The 60-second trick
Recently, a dentist named Olivia Cuid from Montreal, shared a hack on social media site TikTok to make the loose mask fit better. This 60-second hack will make any surgical or cotton mask fit better. The mask just needs to have ear loops.
Step 1: Wash your hands with soap and water and pat it dry.
Step 2: Take the mask and fold it in half lengthwise.
Step 3: Take both the ear loops and tie a knot close to the sides of the mask.
Step 4: Open the mask and tuck in the openings on the sides underneath the ear loops.
Step 5: Now put on your mask and check if it fits your face completely.
