As the humidity level increases during the monsoon season, our skin can easily catch infections leading to skin irritation and even stubborn acne. Along with acne, skin also gets oily during the rainy season, making your skin look dull. To combat these skin Woes we got in touch with India's leading aromatherapist, Dr Blossom Kochhar to highlight a few easy home remedies one can try to get a glowing skin this monsoon:
- One can easily find potatoes and they can do wonders to the skin. They are excellent for dark circles and also help in removing tan. Take a teaspoon of yoghurt, add a pinch of salt and a few drops of lemon & sandalwood essential oil in it. Mix all these together. Now take a slice of potato to apply the mixture evenly on your face. Keep it on for 15-20 minute and rinse it off.
- Rice flour can be used to make a scrub. It will help to remove all the dirt, oil and impurities from the skin. So, take 1 teaspoon each of rice flour and aloe vera gel, add a pinch of salt and 2 drops of lavender essential oil in it. Apply it on your face, keep it on for 5-10 minutes and then slightly start rubbing it all over your face. Rub it for a good 10-15 minutes and then rinse it off. Remember to always use a light moisturiser on your face after using a scrub.
- For brightening and cooling the skin, you can use cucumber in your skincare rituals. Use grated cucumber and a few drops of lemon juice. Apply it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse it off. The lemon will help to brighten & tighten your skin and cucumber will cool your skin.
- "My go-to ingredient from the kitchen is tomato," says Dr Kochhar. Take a slice of tomato and put some sugar or salt and rub it gently all over your face. This will help to minimise pores and also remove the dead skin.
