The goods that we buy on a fleeting basis may not ultimately wind up on our monthly most wanted list, but that doesn't mean they're not worthy of their own shopping spotlight. Welcome to our newest series that details just that: peeling back a more of-the-moment curtain on the top weird to wonderful items that people purchased this week.

Each of the products ahead was anonymously sourced from both top-performing R29 stories as well as shopping data that details the most current bestsellers. This means that everything you'll find featured — from the $11 jelly highlighter to the handmade linen dress — is a freshly baked slice of what's trending in virtual carts across the web at this very moment. Scroll on to see what else is in store (spoiler: it involves back-in-stock sell-outs and on-sale bath essentials).

We’re here to help you navigate this overwhelming world of stuff. All of our market picks are independently selected and curated by the editorial team.

Waterproof Slide Sandals

Last Week's Top-Carted:
Birkenstocks made their comeback a while back — but, waterproof slide sandals are a new trending blip on this summer's shopping radar. Namely, this exemplary cool-blue style that's was carted up like a hot cake by everyone and their mothers (literally) last week.

With nearly 2,000 reviews on Nordstrom and a 4.6 out of 5-star rating, plus another 73 reviews and a nearly 5-star rating on Zappos, the cushioned rubber-like twist on the iconic strapped sandal comes customer-vetted and approved: from "Sent to my mother for an early Mother's Day gift. She loves them! She reports she has worn them every day since they arrived," to, "These are perfect for poolside or beach slip-on. Sand washes right off. Very comfortable."

Jelly Highlighter

If you're not blessed with a natural dewy complexion, then make like this week's savvy shoppers and cart up Revlon's Glow Gelée highlighter for an effortlessly luminous sheen. This little $11 pot from the drugstore makeup MVP is filled with a rose-quartz-infused jelly formula that (according to the brand), "rolls over skin and plays up your bone structure with a gorgeous, pearlescent sheen."

Reviews are raving everything from, "I have super oily skin and it didn’t make my makeup look greasy!! It stayed in place all day, it didn’t fade. This is such a BEAUTIFUL HIGHLIGHT!!!" to, "From far away, your skin looks like you just jumped out of the pool and have light bouncing off the water that is still on your face. This formula is VERY buildable. It starts out looking sheer, then one more layer and it looks blinding!".

Towel Bundle

Towels are trending (specifically of the bundle variety). We're guessing it may have to do with an increase in time spent at home directly correlating to an increase in towel usage (or just a finally realized need to replace those raggedy ones we've been using since college).

Whatever it is, bundles are a great way to save some extra bucks on the bath-essentials investment front — and savvy shoppers know to go to Brooklinen where they can currently snag an extra 10% off its plush, bestselling Move-In Bundle (complete with four bath towels, two hand towels, four washcloths, and one bathmat).

Hyaluronic Acid Hydration Support Formula

From the AHA peeling solution to the niacinamide and zinc blemish-fighting formula, it appears shoppers are moving their way through all of The Ordinary's skincare offerings — and this week they've got its $7 hyaluronic acid at the top of their carts.

With 369 5-star reviews on Ulta, the customer-approved praise starts and doesn't stop at: "I've found this product while scrolling through Tik Tok skincare routines and this was highly recommended. After using this product for a month, my face has never been so smooth. I have combination skin, but mostly dry depending on the weather, and I am prone to stress acne. Adding this product to my daily routine has made my skin so much softer, and I feel like it may have also cleared up the smaller stubborn bumps on my forehead. I recommend this product if you want more a more supple face, but are on a budget."

Summer shoppers are clearly living in breathable linen garments — with this handmade Etsy frock in a lovely watermelon hue gracing the tip-tops of their carts.

The bestselling dress has been purchased nearly 50k times and totes just about 10k rave reviews. And "I can’t say more amazing things about Linenfox. First, the quality is unbeatable. You can really feel and see how well-made the items are too. Second, communication with the seller is seamless. The team is so helpful and they all seem to be on the same page. Third, this dress is so flattering" is just a taste.

HEPA Air Purifier

With the recent news around using HEPA-filter-equipped air purifiers as an added layer of defense against household contamination amidst the pandemic, shoppers have been keen on carting up such models on Amazon.

HEPA (aka "high efficiency particulate air") filters are top-rated for their ability to trap around 99.97% of tiny particles in the air — and although handwashing, social distancing, and wearing protective face coverings are the best first lines of defense against the spread of COVID-19, adding a high-quality home filtration system into the mix can help when layered in with those precautions.

Eyeshadow Palette

Multi-colored makeup compacts are still on the summer shopping menu as a top-carted hit — only this week, the popular palette in question just so happens to be 50% off.

Morphe's full-spectrum score (packed with 39 deeply pigmented shades) was exclusively designed in partnership with iconic beauty influencer James Charles. The vibrant shadow collection is backed by a staggering near 3,000 5-star reviews — with customers raving, "I love this palette because the choices are endless! I can do a bold colorful eye look or a muted smokey eye look with the same palette, making it my number one choice for on the go. It's quite big but it's sleek and easy to store. This palette will last me forever, but I will be buying a new one when the time comes!"

Eco-Friendly Tampons

T-pons may not be a trend but, nevertheless, they're getting a little taste of the spotlight this week. Feminine-care shoppers are currently carting up this little blue box packed with unscented tampons crafted from 100% organic cotton and a bio-plastic applicator (derived from sugarcane).

Reviewers give the plant-based-pons a 4.8 out of 5-star rating — and as one in particular praises, "I am extremely sensitive in my "honeypot" region and have never been able to use scented tampons, pantiliners, bubble bath, soaps or any kind of fragrances down there. And although we all know the va-jay-jay to be likened to a self-cleaning oven, there are times when we don't always feel so fresh like after or during our menstrual cycle, after sex, etc. I have been researching natural products to use that wouldn't disturb my pH balance and send me into a frenzy of irritation and infections. I absolutely am thrilled to learn of the Honey Pot line of products and it was well worth the wait in shipping. I have always had to buy unscented tampons and pantiliners and recently I started purchasing organic tampons and pantiliners. Now I plan to use the Honey Pot line exclusively! I used my first tampon recently and I couldn't have felt more comfortable!"

The shampoo and conditioner are luscious and rich, the leave-in and jojoba oil leave my hair feeling soft, bouncy, shiny, and light. They seriously are perfect!"

Mattress Topper

While people may currently be carting the pricier full-on-mattress version of this topper, we wanted to spotlight a tad more affordable (but just as bestselling) investment from the cart-trending bedding brand. This 3-inch topper is crafted from high-density graphite-infused memory foam that boasts premium cooling technology for temperature-regulated snoozes.

Clearly, there's just something about Saatva's sleep support that shoppers can't get enough of: "Top quality zen haven bed, topper, and pillow. I will look to them first for any future bedding needs," one content customer coos.

Quarantine footcare is still a trending weekly topic with this $6 foot-mask pack from LAPCOS clocking in as a cart favorite. According to our Beauty & Wellness Writer, who swears by it, "this K-beauty Amazon gem hydrates and revitalizes tired toes with the help of peppermint oil and lavender. AHA 30% Peeling Solution

If you haven't yet heard, The Ordinary is a minimalist-chic looking skincare brand that offers fan-favorite products at crazy low prices. And, although the brand has been around since 2013, its line of skin-perfecting treatments is still trending strong — with this AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution at the top of this week's shopping cart.

This under-$10 bottle with skin-exfoliating and brightening benefits totes 4.4 out of 5 stars and nearly 1,500 reviews on Ulta — so, we'll let its amassed praise do the talking: "I've used this mask a few times now and I'm very impressed. After just my first use, my skin felt smoother than it has in years. My skin looked brighter, visibly softer, more even. I have mildly sensitive skin. I'm prone to redness and dryness. This mask made my skin feel a little tight afterward and my cheeks did have some temporary redness, but that's somewhat to be expected with such a strong AHA. I moisturized afterward with The Ordinary's standard moisturizer. I did not (and do not recommend) use any other products that evening. Just my pre-peel wash, the AHA/BHA mask, and my moisturizer. This product is very, very strong and should be used on a night you're not using any other actives to reduce irritation. All in all, I definitely recommend this product for 25+ skin. I think it's probably more powerful than someone under 25 needs unless they're dealing with acne scarring or some other topical skin concerns that would warrant a strong acid like this. If you have rosacea, I definitely recommend you consult with a dermatologist or esthetician before trying this product."

Tinted SPF

Summer is the season of sunscreen — so we weren't surprised to find this bottle of niacinamide, zinc oxide, and sodium-hyaluronate formula by eltaMD at the top of shoppers' carts.

The tinted SPF 46 boasts a more than stellar 5-out-of-5 star rating — with reviewers touting the beauty-meets-skincare savior as simple and effective: "I have tried countless SPF’s from drugstore to very high-end brands. Elta UV Clear (and tinted version) is a 10! My skin is protected, with no clogged pores, and no irritation — it looks good if I put a dusting powder over the top or just go with sunscreen. Also, I feel it washes off very nicely with a mild cleanser. So glad I found this product. I have re-purchased it many times."

This particular $30 set from Uniqlo was designed by the London-based Joy of Print and is crafted from a super-soft and stretchy blend of cotton, rayon, and spandex.

As one customer attests, "This is the most relaxing gift I've ever bought for myself! It's just as good as a foot massage! It's very easy to use! It makes my feet super clean and very happy! My feet haven't been this clean or smooth since I was a baby and that was a hundred years ago (not 100). I told a friend to buy one for her sister and for herself!
