Weight loss: Difference between Jogging, Running and Sprinting |
01/ Do you know the difference?
Exercising every day is essential to stay fit and healthy. But it is a challenge to choose the right kind of exercise as per your fitness goal. The same is with jogging, running and sprinting. They three are parts of the same form of exercise, but the difference between them is that of the pace. If you are deciding to do any of the three, you first need to know the differences and the health benefits offered by each of them.
02/ Jogging
Jogging is a low-intensity exercise in which you have to put less effort as compared to running or sprinting. When you are jogging, your speed limit should be less than 10 minutes per mile. If your speed is more than that, it is generally considered as a run. But the speed is not the same for every person. If you have just started exercising then even jogging at the pace of 15 minutes per mile will be difficult and tiring for you. You can breathe properly while jogging, your heart rate will be normal and you can talk properly. It is an aerobic form of exercise which means you’ll be breathing in oxygen for energy while running at a steady pace. Jogging decreases cortisol levels in the body and is good for cardiovascular health.
03/ Running
Running is also a kind of aerobic exercise but the difference between running and jogging is pace. Other than that, running helps you burn more calories as compared to jogging. This happens because running requires far more energy than jogging, as a result, it burns more calories. Running helps to tone your legs and is good for your cardiovascular health.
04/ Sprinting
In sprinting, a runner needs to maintain his maximum speed while running. Sprinting is an anaerobic form of exercise and a lot of energy is required while performing it. Sprinting is best to cover a short distance. This exercise helps you burn maximum calories and your lung capacity increases. Sprinting is good for people trying to lose weight quickly.
DISCLAIMER: If you have joint problem or are suffering from any cardiovascular issue, then do not perform this exercise.
