This simple trick will help your kids eat healthy |
It is a real struggle for every parent to make their child eat healthy and nutritious food. No matter how much you experiment with the food to make it interesting and delicious, your kid still might not have it. In such a situation it is quite obvious for you to be concerned about your little one's health. Well, researches have found out a simple trick that can ensure that your child consumes healthy food.
What to do?
As per a study published in the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behaviour, if you serve the food with a child-centered nutrition phrase then there are high chances that your child will eat it.
The study In the study conducted by Washington State University Vancouver, researches approached 98 families with kids between 6 to 9 years. During the study period of six weeks, children were served vegetables like tomatoes, bell peppers, lentils, and quinoa. They were introduced to these vegetables in three ways. In the first case, they were repeatedly exposed to one food, in the second one they were exposed to food with a child-centered nutrition phrase and in the third case, two foods were served with no intervention.
At the end of the study, it was found that when kids were given healthy food with some kind of motivational phrase they tried it.
What is a child-centered phrase?
Instead of saying that vegetables are good for your health, you should be more specific. What you say at the dinner table is equally important as what you serve them. So, simply telling them that "vegetables are healthy" is not going to help. You have to give them specific reasons for the same. You can say:
"Beetroot will help you run fast and jump high."
"Fruits will make you smarter."
So, if your child is a picky eater and you struggle every single day then try this trick. It might help.
