Headhunters see uptick in tech leadership hiring |
Technology heads are going to be in high demand in 2020, with some headhunters predicting an almost 100% increase in hiring for this leadership profile across software services, manufacturing, technology and product companies.
With digital transformation the topmost priority for established companies and startups alike, and new-age businesses looking to build solid technology products with a pickup in funding, organisations working across cloud, artificial intelligence and machine learning, B2C mobile apps, e-gaming and enterprise SaaS have all been hiring for this role, recruitment experts told ET.
Hiring services providers such as Michael Page, Korn Ferry, Catenon and Fidius Advisory report an increase in mandates for the role of chief technology officer and vice-president of engineering compared with the same period last year, with compensation ranging between Rs 80 lakh and Rs 1.5-2 crore plus stock options.
Companies that have recently appointed technology heads include Mahindra Electric (the electric-vehicle arm of Mahindra & Mahindra), Licious, Ascent Health, Netcore, Walmart, Paytm Money and Dockabl.
